Fall Sale Preview Party to benefit East Texas Food Bank!

Hi Friends,

I just have to share today about a local non-profit that will be benefitting from our fall sale! My mom and I are excited to be helping (and you too!) the East Texas Food Bank located here in Tyler. Click on their link at the left side of the blog and check out all the people and organizations that they help with food everyday. I was amazed to know that in their hands $1 = 8 meals! ( I'm doing good to get one meal for $8.) All the donations to shop the Preview Party will be given to them. Also, we have another yummy surprise that you will be interested in which benefits them also, but that story is for another day....
Check out their website at http://www.easttexasfoodbank.org/ or click on the side bar link!

Happy Friday,

Jodi

Fun Find for Fall Sale

I thought I would share an item a week that will be for sale at the fall sale...just to get you interested! Today I found this awesome "french looking" full bed complete with rails! The details are awesome, and it would be fabulous painted in any color. Project anyone?

South Dakota Trip

My folks, Rebekah and I took a road trip to my grandparents farm in South Dakota this summer. My wonderful grandparents are in their 80's and still living on their farm in a tiny town of Volga, South Dakota...(I know you have never heard of it!) Well, they were having some farm buildings taken down and so we went for moral support! We got there the evening before the shed was coming down and found it was full of "junky" treasures. We all started pulling out farm equipment parts, old bikes, interesting items...my grandpa thought we were nuts, but I told him about all the creative Texans I know who make great stuff out of junk...We saved a lot of stuff, some we got home and the rest will have to stay for another trip! I know all you junkies would have loved this "dig!" The "coolest" thing I found were the lightening rods made of copper from the 20's...Yes, they will be in the fall sale!

Junkin' Continued

I loved these long metal things, I learned they are used to dry corn...but what would you do with them?

More of the "haul"

Junkin' in South Dakota

The sun was setting, the barn was being torn down tomorrow, so we went to work hauling out interesting stuff!

The shed had only been standing for 80+ years, so it had just a few cobwebs!

This pile was huge and deep...I only got so and definitely used my gloves!

Neat old fan!

Me (Jodi) with all the junk! Alot of it stayed in South Dakota, but it will return with us on another trip. I did manage to get the lightening rods back!
